WELCOME TO METROPOLITAN MILWAUKEE

The five counties of Metropolitan Milwaukee offer many wonderful surprises; from our impressive lakefront, a wide range of cultural activities including a world-class symphony, a nationally renowned zoo, museums, distinguished architecture, and professional/collegiate sports, to our quiet rural communities nestled amoung the rolling hills of of the "Kettle Moraine Area" and along the shores of the many beautiful inland lakes.

Milwaukee is one of Wisconsin's smallest counties - and its most populous. Its community personalities range from the hustle and bustle of Milwaukee's downtown to a rural quietness of River Hills, Hales Corners and Franklin. It is a county of cities and villages. These include the sprawling city of Milwaukee and some quiet villages such as Greendale. Any area of the county can be reached in minutes, a unique feature for those accustomed to long commutes to major metropolitan areas.

Milwaukee is an approachable city. It won't intimidate you with its skyscrapers, bewilder you with its street systems or overwhelm you with its sprawl. It is a community of neighborhoods and parks, businesses and industries, churches and schools.

Waukesha County is located just to the west of Milwaukee County. Its eastern edge is bordered by Brookfield, Elm Grove, New Berlin, Menomonee Falls and Muskego. This area is rapidly growing and known for lovely business parks and upscale residential homes. "Lake Country" is located in the northern part of the county. 15,000 years ago, glaciers carved out dozens of lovely lakes which are now bordered with some of the most luxurious and impressive homes in our area. The southern unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest is located in southwestern Waukesha County, offering lovely hiking trails around lakes, hills and ridges, and a beautiful setting for many newer developments.

Ozaukee County affords all that a rural county has to offer. Its largest city has 25,000 residents, and the county total is just over 100,000. This is the perfect location for the nature lover who prefers to be close to the city. It is located just northwest of Milwaukee, and boasts over 50 lakes and five rivers.

Racine County has much to offer from lovely condominiums overlooking a modern 1,000 slip marina to family run dairy farms, and is home to prominent national corporations such as JI Case and S.C. Johnson Wax. There is never a shortage of things to do. Burlington is the Midwest home of the Nestle Chocolate Co., and known for its annual Chocolate Festival in the spring. Caledonia is the largest unincorporated commnunity in the state with more that 21,000 residents. Many subdivisions are being developed on the western edge of this community and offer very affordable housing.
